Background
The Foot/Ankle Complex consists of the tibia, fibula, and the 26 bones of the foot.
Together they allow the foot to adapt to all surfaces but to also have the power and manueverability to push off and proper the body in all directions.
With this mobility, and with the amount of load placed through the foot/ankle, along with its primary function to stabilize on all surfaces, these all place the joint at risk for sprains, strains, and compression fractures.
In order to prevent injury, their needs to be a balance of strength, flexibility, proper proprioception and balance reactions, and proper footwear.
The following kit will:
-instruct in the proper exercise program to ensure strength, flexibility, and balance
-instruct in proper shoe wear
-instruct in proper care if injury occurs

Principles for Treatment
-Do no harm. Theses exercises and instructions were designed to improve your health not cause harm. If any of these exercises cause pain, please refrain.
-The challenge is knowing what to do when! With any recent injury treat the inflammation. When the body is ready, try to implement general conditioning-biking is a great exercise for the foot/ankle when returning from injury to promote health and wellness. When conditioning improves, try to improve strength and flexibility with exercises. When continue to do well focus on continued strengthening to prevent future injury.
